TOPSHOPXKATEMOSS is finally out!

Kate Moss for Topshop
is here!!!

Available in Topshop & Nordstrom
in stores and online.

For the full feature,
check my old post here.

Amidst the cold & wet day in NYC today,
I had the chance to see the collection in Topshop Soho.

The store opened at 8 AM
and the first 100 customers
who went to the store were given a goody bag.

Fresh fruits and drinks were served.
Mimosa for me of course! ;)

I arrived around 9 AM already and didn't expect to still get a goody bag.
But I guess due to the rain,
only a few people came.
I only tried on the classic styles
as the other ones are not my style
or too long for me.
Some designs are meant for tall people unfortunately.

This is a cute dress!
The circle thingies you see in the dress are all rhinestones!

This dress is under the collection,
Cocktail Hour.
In Kate Moss' words,
"I always like to include a tea dress and it's essential to have the cocktail dresses for special occasions."
I never thought I'll like this.
This is actually my favorite!

This dress is under the collection,
Tailoring Noir.
Make it sheer glamour in 20's inspired pieces!
Even though I already own a Gatsby-ish beaded dress that I wore on my birthday party last year,
I still had to try this on.
This is fully beaded and heavy.
But oh so nice and so much fun!!!

And for a casual look,
I tried on this layered top
and scallop shorts.
I actually love the material and design
but they should not be worn together.
They are great key pieces on their own.

How about you,
what pieces are you eyeing for?

Or if you have purchased already,
which pieces did you get?

Savings Saturday!

Summer is coming!
This Saturday, I'll tell you how you can have some savings!

This swimsuit set only costed $3.90!
The cheapest I ever had!!!

These are brand new.
They are not clearance.
Not even on sale.
In fact,
they are still to be officially released on May 1st!

The top & bottom costs only $4.95 each!
Plus I got a $6 gift from Wrapp app.

If you don't have the app yet,
download it now!

And this week when you buy in store,
they give you a $5 gift card to use on your next purchase!
Isn't that awesome?!

And they are the exact ones modeled by Gisele Bundchen in this photo.

She's the world's highest-paid supermodel with a figure that most of us can only dream of.
And this summer,
she is showing off her million-dollar curves in all their glory
as the face and body of H&M's Summer '14 campaign.

The Brazilian beauty, 33, in addition to showcasing her toned and tanned bikini body
in the stunning swimwear shoot,
the catwalk queen has recorded a cover of iconic Blondie track Heart Of Glass.

The song was produced by acclaimed French DJ Bob Sinclair
who worked alongside Gisele for the remix of the 1979 track.

Displaying her incredible beach body,
the mother-of-two croons into a microphone as the ocean can be seen as a backdrop behind her.
Can you believe she's a mother of two?!

Last year,
she recorded another cover for H&M
doing the iconic Kinks hit All Day And All Night.
The record was made available on iTunes and raised money for charity.

Surrounded by a wall of speakers,
the wind whips at the model's gorgeous luxurious mane
as she prances about in an animal-print two piece.
(top & bottom, also $4.95 each)

In lieu of Gisele's animal-print two piece she wore in the video,
I chose the other style for the top & bottom.

I got the convertible bikini top
(can be w/ or w/o straps)
for also $4.95.
And for a change,
I chose the high waisted bottom
for $14.95.
It is actually my first one so far.
So for this set,
I only paid $14.90!
I used the $5 gift card.

These white eyelet pair also costs $4.95 each.
Both costed me, $3.90 again as I used another free $6 gift from Wrapp app.
Sometimes,
when you give gifts to your friends,
you also earn a gift for yourself!

This dress has a cutout in the back.
(Forgot to take pic, ooops!)
I feel like this was created for taller people with longer torso. lol
Otherwise for the price of $14.95,
it can't be beat!

These shorts are very comfortable and don't look cheap at all!
Great buy!
*I personally haven't seen the top.

A lot of nice items to look out for!

All available in stores from May 1st.

First EngageMONTH!

It's been a month since the engagement.
To commemorate this,
I want to share our great experience during our
first dinner as an engaged couple.

So after he proposed in the Empire State Building,
we headed to A Voce Madison.

41 Madison Ave (At 26th Street)
Tel: 212.545.8555

chocolates for the sweet night courtesy of A Voce

A Voce Madison's design reflects an aesthetic that is at once natural and urban,
creating sophisticated and modern oasis.
The dining room is eneveloped by two garden spaces,
one literal (the 100-seat outside dining piazza adorned with lemon trees, flowers and herbs) and
the other figurative (an impressive indoor art installation entitled "Falling Twig").

The restaurant interior features a mix of modern accents evoking Italy's industrial history:
stainless steel and high-gloss chocolate and vanilla lacquers,
while American walnut floors, leather-topped tables, and horsehair-upholstered banquettes
lend the space an urban elemental feel.

We were seated on the left side were the twig tree is.
Upon being seated,
our waiter already noticed how happy we were and
asked if we were celebrating something.
So we told him we just got engaged.
And alas!
He gave each of us a glass of champagne right away!
On the house of course!

The staff are all awesome from the host to the waiter

It was already 10 PM so we have to order our food.
We ordered a couple more of dishes but we can't remember them all now!

Anyways here are the ones we definitely cannot forget
as they were soooo delicious!

Antipasti Caldi
Foie gras
seared foie gras, walnuts, radicchio, saba

Primi

Gnocco alla Romana
red wine braised octopus, nduja, marjoram

Secondi

Agnello
Colorado lamb shank, borlotti beans, apricot-pistachio gremolata

Dolci

Crostata di Mela
apple-fennel tart, hazelnut mascarpone, vanilla gelato
(complimentary!)

Digestivi
Grappa for him
Port for me
(both on the house again!)

left hand: my gorgeous princess cut ring
right hand: my sweet port
and our delish Crostata di Mela

For their complete menu, click here.

We had a bottle of Ca" del Bosco, Franciacorta, Cuvee Prestige, Brut, Lombardy.
And he gave us the cork as a keepsake.

For their full wine menu, click here.

We stayed till midnight without being rushed at all.
We were the only ones left in the restaurant.

 Lunch:

Mon-Fri 11:45am-2:30pm

Wedding Wednesdays!

Let us talk about some wedding traditions.
For this Wedding Wednesday,
it is all about

Tossing the Bouquet

Tossing the bouquet is a tradition that stems from England.
Women used to try to rip pieces of the bride's dress and flowers
in order to obtain some of her good luck.
To escape from the crowd the bride would toss her bouquet and run away.
Today the bouquet is tossed to single women
with the belief that whoever catches it will be the next to marry.

I honestly NEVER believed in this tradition

but hey it's fun! ;)

I remember my first time "catching" the bouquet.

It was in my cousin's wedding in the suburbs in the Philippines.
In general, single Filipino women shy away from this event.
They don't wanna join or they are being dragged to go the floor.
The first time the bride tossed the bouquet,
it fell in the floor as no one even attempted to catch it.
So the next time she tossed it,
well let me catch it I guess! lol

Sorry for the blurry picture quality =P

The second time I "got" the bouquet was not thru a toss.
This was during my friend's church wedding that was held in the Philippines.
(They were civilly wed in New York.)
Philippine weddings has become so innovative.
Everyone wants to be unique in their own little ways.
So in this event,
all single ladies were each given a flower.
Then among these women,
the one who has the shortest and longest stem stayed.
And of course,
I was one of the two!
Then,
the audience aka guests were asked to choose among the two who should get the bouquet.
Well, the other lady was a young teen I believe.
So obviously, I was the one chosen!

And the third time I got the bouquet was thru a real toss

in my friend's wedding in New Jersey.
And this time I really got it the first attempt! haha

(I am still looking for the pic of me literally in the air catching the bouquet! lol)

So was this an example of "third time's a charm"? ;)

And did you notice that in these 3 incidences:

1. I was a bridesmaid

2. all of these weddings' color motif was pink

Isn't that a crazy coincidence?!

Anyways, I've been to a couple of weddings already that didn't do bouquet/garter toss.

The centuries-old bouquet and garter toss traditions may be going out of style.
And I kind of agree.
Unless I do not toss the bouquet
and make a different way of giving away the bouquet,
maybe I'll consider.

Maybe you're wondering why.

Here's my take on that:

The bouquet toss can be fun but it really depends on the single women who are there.
If they're up to the game, it can be fun.
But what if they're shy?
Plus, I feel like we are just making our female friends feel more single than they already do.
And even if they're up to it,
it is not fun to watch your unmarried women friends "fight" over a bouquet.
I've seen some who are really competitive with this.

Then after the bouquet toss comes the garter toss.

Sometimes, the guys don't like the girl who got the bouquet.
So none of them wants to get the garter!
That is just plain awkward!

Did you toss the bouquet at your wedding?

Or will you toss it?
Or is this is a tradition to, well, toss?

Tell me in the comments!

Hey, Happy Earth Day!

"Be the change you want to see in the world."
-Mahatma Gandhi

Today, April 22, is

Our planet is at a turning point.
The massive global migration underway now from countryside to cities
will demand huge investments in energy, water, materials, waste, food distribution, and transportation over the next 25 years.
If the right investments are made now,
this unique opportunity will be the catalyst for dramatic changes in the built environment
and the fight against carbon emissions and climate change.

For those who are in New York,

This is one of the advocacy campaigns of Earth Day New York.

So me & my girlfriends acted in a couple of ways today:

My girlfriends who came to the city today
took the bus instead of driving.

We also took the subway instead of taking a cab.

Plus, we walked to their bus station on their way home instead of taking the subway!

Today,
I used one of the dresses on
H&M CONSCIOUS COLLECTION.

It is part of H&M's work for a more sustainable fashion future.
This helps support their actions for a more sustainable future in fashion.
At H&M it’s not only about the fabric you feel between your fingertips,
it’s also about the environment and the people around us.
They believe that together we can create real and long-term changes
whether it’s in our day-to-day activities,
our support of local communities,
or the launch of more sustainable collections.

The H&M Conscious Collection stars Amber Valletta
– a supermodel and philanthropist.
Indulge in dazzling key pieces that combine beauty and awareness to create fashion perfection.

Lyocell is the generic name for a biodegradable fabric that's made out of treated wood pulp.
It's commonly sold under the brand name Tencel®.

Tencel is made from sustainably grown Eucalyptus.

To check the complete H&M Conscious Collection,

Also,
H&M was the first fashion company to launch a global garment collection initiative.
Today, you can hand in any clothes you no longer want.
That way, we can reduce waste and give old products a new life.
Eventually, we’ll close the loop on textiles so nothing ever goes to waste.

We had dinner at
 in Lincoln Center.

The Smith is a casual American Brasserie.

In a very fast paced urban city like New York,
you really get to appreciate this practice.

I also like the fact that they recycle their wine bottles and use them as water containers.

How about you,
what have you done today?

Or what do you do everyday to help save Mother Earth?

Massage Monday: Spa Week '14

After long days of work,
I think I deserve a massage.

And what a perfect timing because it is

SPA WEEK is a bi-annual event focused on the personal health and wellness of consumers.
Every April and October, hundreds of spa and wellness locations across North America provide two to three full-service spa treatments for just $50 each, offering everyone access to the spa and wellness lifestyle.

During this SPA WEEK EVENT from April 21-27,
participating spas each offer 3 different deals for only $50 each.

I wasn't able to book an appointment beforehand so all my top choices are already booked this week.
I called several of my favorite places such as
Red Door Spa at The Chatwal New York,
The Salon & Spa at Saks Fifth Avenue - NYC,
L'Institut Sothys New York,
etc.
My only chance is that if someone cancels.

Anyways, I needed a massage badly today so I ended up trying

Overview
"Hollywood and Gossip Girl celebrities like Leighton Meester come here to get pampered.
At Rehoboth Spa Lounge,
we offer variety of treatments to enhance yourself from head to toe.
Revitalize, Rejuvenate and Relax at Rehoboth Spa Lounge.
We offer variety of treatments personalized to fit you.
All of our packages can be customized to fit your needs.
Build your own from scratch?
We have a blank canvas ready for you.
Or you can choose from one of our various spa packages already configured to fit various needs!"

I am usually a sucker of fancy or nice-looking places.
This one definitely did not look fancy to me at all.
But hey, if celebrities come here, maybe it's worth the try.
Didn't someone say, "Do not judge a book by its cover"? ;)

So among there 3 Spa Week Treatment Offers,
I chose
For those who doesn't know what Swedish massage is, click here.

 Verdict:
It is not a fancy place,
but it gets the work done.
My masseur did a great job on relaxing my "tight" muscles.
I was given a cold bottled water at least after the massage.
The only thing that was annoying me was that old pipe heater
that keeps on clanking!
It was overpowering the relaxing music!

And oh! I did not have a mani/pedi,
but it is probably the biggest nail salon I've ever seen in Manhattan!

I love the real plants on the walls and ceiling.
It gives me that natural feel.

_____________________________________________________________

So if you're in United States,
check SPA WEEK right now and book an appointment!

Celebrity Favorites:

Sofia Vergara (star of Modern Family) keeps her complexion consistently camera-ready with microdermabrasion facials at Skintique in Miami to smooth skin, decrease pore size and reduce hyper-pigmentation.

Some of native Long Island’s most famous faces (Natalie Portman and Billy Joel
and even some high-priority visitors (like Christina Applegate and Paula Deen) like to unwind at nuBest in Manhasset, NY for the luxurious Swedish massage treatment.

Ellen DeGeneres, Kris Jenner and Tyra Banks frequent LA Slim Wrap for tightening wraps and some extra toning.

Former Gossip Girl Leighton Meester is known to head to Rehoboth Spa Lounge in NYC for the Swedish massage treatment there.

A small city in Indiana might not be where you’d expect to run into famous faces like Joan Rivers, Ivanka Trump and Kendra Wilkinson – but beautiful spa facility David & Mary Salon Spa brings out top clientele. David & Mary were innovators in salon make-up application, which is probably why these celebs felt they had to give it a try
