Falafel and Fashion in the City

As I bade goodbye to a dear friend of mine who's moving to Dallas,  we gathered for low key drinks in the village.  After a night out,  I usually grab something to eat before heading home and sleep. As we left the bar, the first thing that came to my mind was Mamoun's!

Situated in the heart of Greenwich Village in New York City, Mamoun’s Falafel has been serving high quality Middle Eastern Food since it first opened its doors to the public in 1971. It is the oldest falafel restaurant in New York and one of the first Middle Eastern establishments in the United States.

Family owned and operated since the beginning, the restaurant is now part of the history and culture of the Village. Its tradition extends to serving the likes of many famous musicians, actors, and other celebrities. There is an energy and flare to the place that cannot be captured in words. Whether it’s the tiny “hole in the wall” charm, the high paced/ high volume energy, or the dynamic clientele, going to Mamoun…

A Taste of Italy in The City

Fashion meets Food
"The best almond cookies ever, called Amaretto cookies. Ask for Marta and she'll help you." -SJP (A Day in Her Shoes)

As I conquer the world (starting with New York City of course) with my SJP Shoes, as a lover of sweets, my first stop was of course Taralucci e Vino Restaurant!
They have 3 locations as follows:
the wine bar 475 COLUMBUS AVE NYC 10024  T. 212 362 5454
the cafe 163 1ST AVE NYC 10003 T. 212 388 1190
the restaurant 15 E 18TH ST NYC 10003 T. 212 228 5400 F. 212 228 4672

I went to the restaurant yesterday on my way to class to give these sweeties a try. As I got in the restaurant, I was a bit confused as I didn't see any pastry. In the entrance, you'll see the bar to your left and then a staircase to the dining area. A very nice lady, Sara, came to greet me and I told her about my mission on finding the Amaretto cookies. As I was devouring the Amaretto cookies like there's no tomorrow, I asked if Marta is around. She apparently was d…

Stirrup Season!

We might have just had "Spring forward' yesterday, but we are "Fashion backward" today!
During SJP Shoe Collection launch, an 80's fad was reborn to the fashion world: stirrup tights/leggings!
I remember owning stirrup pants in every color when I was in grade school! Now that I'm older, stirrup is not just but a fashion item for me. It has the ability to elongate the appearance of women’s legs!
Due to insistent public demand, here are the links as to where Sarah Jessica Parker got her now-again-famous stirrups!

Denise setting the trend on stirrup!

Then SJP did her own version after.
